The Montego Bay Motoring Club kicked off its 2008 season of competition with its signature Wet ‘n Slide dexterity event at Pines Plaza in Junction, St Elizabeth, on Sunday, February 24 to the delight of the St. Elizabeth residents in attendance, who invited the organizers to host similar events there every week, indicating their approval of the high entertainment value event.The event started at approximately 3.30 pm and ran till 9 pm, when the crowd was whipped into a frenzy by a freestyle drifting display by Marcus Barnes, Ivan Lee and Maurice Whittingham, perfectly executing a three car, tandem drift around a cone.

The Montego Bay Motoring Club’s Dexterity #1, 2008 is to be held at Pines Plaza in Junction, St. Elizabeth starting at 3pm on Sunday, February 24, 2008.
Prizes will be awarded in six classes, namely FWD, RWD, FWD with LSD, RWD with LSD, 4WD and a ladies class.
Registration opens at 10 am, drivers meeting is at 11.45 and the first car starts off at 12 noon.
There will also be a drivers clinic run concurrently with the dexterity, where interested individuals will pay the same entry fee as the regular competitors and receive driving instruction, tips and pointers from a dexterity champion who will ride with the trainee in their vehicle for each of the three regular runs.
This instruction session will start one hour before the official start of the competition and run throughout.
This is in response to increased demand for driving clinics and instruction sessions outside of actual competition, and promises to be a very rewarding exercise.
Spectator admission will be $500 and there will be a drifting exhibition put on by Marcus Barnes, Maurice Whittingham, Ivan Lee and Randall Singh at the end of the day.
For all persons interested the JMMC will once again be hosting Co-Driver 101 workshop scheduled to take place on Saturday March 1, 2008 at 11:00am.Persons interested persons are being asked to send feedback via email to jmc@kasnet.com or to rallyprincess@gmail.com
Workshop will be at a minimal cost of $1500 per persons. Maximum class size will be 15 so all persons interested are being asked to submit your info early.
