Jamaican representative Alex Powell finished third in the Final at Round 2 of the WSK Final Cup at the 7 Laghi International Circuit in Castelletto di Branduzzo in Pavia, Italy, extending his series points lead.
After winning the Pre-Final securing pole position, Alex led the Final for the first four laps. He dropped to 3rd on laps five and six, then to 4th on lap seven before making his way toward the front once again. Closing on the leader and in 2nd place briefly on the ninth lap, he was slowed by contact from Brando Badoer but fortunately did not lose control of his kart. The contact created a large gap to the leaders but he recovered in the final lap to claim 3rd place, extending his series points lead.
Alex will race in Las Vegas this coming weekend before returning to Italy for the third and final leg of the WSK Final Cup.
