The Jamaican team of Jeffrey Panton & Michael Fennel Jnr won the Barbados Rally Club’s Tivoli Rally held on Saturday November 24. In doing so they also secured the WRC Class championship, in addition to the Driver Championship for Jeffrey.
The event wasn’t an easy win for the team as Rob Swann was in fine form and leading the rally until a stall after the dinner break cost him approximately 10 seconds.
In an interview with Robin Bradford, Jeffrey gave his thoughts on the event “To be honest, I didn’t put much preparation into my driving and my mental state and it showed, being totally off, lacking rhythm and feeling uncomfortable in the car. I’m gutted for Rob, as he was the better driver today, leading until his stall. Rob has never been a slouch and today was a swift kick up the backside . . . but we welcome the competition and look forward to next year.”
The Panton & Fennel team recorded a 100% win rate in the 2018 BRC Championships.
