The Jamaican trio of Ryan Chisholm, Zander Williams and Thomas Gore have arrived home in Jamaica after competing in Barbados for the 3rd & 4th rounds of the inaugural Caribbean Junior Karting Academy Trophy.
Ryan Chisholm once again led the way, translating his on track speed into the highest points total for the Jamaicans in both Rounds combined. Despite a last place finish due to contact, earning zero points in Saturday’s Race 2, Ryan’s consistent high placings in the other races secured 3rd place Overall in the championship with two rounds remaining. Qualifying 3rd on Saturday, Ryan placed 2nd, 12th, 3rd & 3rd while on Sunday he qualified 5th before securing 4th, 3rd, 3rd and 2nd place finishes in the Heats and Final.
Zander Williams proved to be a revelation, showing immense improvement since making his debut in Junior karts only one month ago. The JKA Mini Champion qualified 8th on Saturday before placing 5th, 2nd, 4th & 4th while on Sunday he again qualified 8th before recording 5th, 2nd, 4th and 5th place finishes in the Heats and Final. Zander’s turn of speed and consistency earned him enough points to move up to 4th Overall in the championship.
Thomas “Tommi” Gore again emerged a race winner, securing the top spot of the podium for Saturday’s Race 2. Tommi, JKA’s Junior Champion, qualified 4th on Saturday, placing 4th, 1st, 5th & 6th while on Sunday he qualified 3rd before placing 3rd, 4th, 8th and 3rd in the Heats and Final. Tommi is currently 5th Overall in the championship.
