Saturday’s three Heats seemed to be going according to plan for Alex Powell during Round 2 of the WSK Super Master Series at South Garda Karting in Lonato, Italy.
Despite starting from 6th place in each Heat, he finished 3rd in Heat 2, 4th in Heat 3 and 2nd in Heat 4, seemingly setting himself for a good spot in Sunday’s Pre-Final. Then the post-race news came: Alex was among a group of six drivers in Heat 4 who would receive a 10-second penalty for passing under a yellow flag in a corner, a flag which the drivers claim they did not see. The penalty turned his 2nd place into a 26th place official finish.
The event continues tomorrow (Sunday) with one more Heat which helps to set the grid for the Pre-Final, then Final.
