Jamaican Alex Powell finished 5th in the 30th Andrea Margutti Trophy held at the South Garda Karting circuit in Italy on April 7th.
Alex began the weekend by qualifying 16th in Mini, then finishing 3rd in Heat 1 and 2nd in Heat 2. Starting 3rd in the Pre-Final, he dropped back to 5th before recovering on the final lap to cross the line 4th, securing his spot on the second row for the Final.
Initially as high as 3rd during the Final, he was passed and fell to 6th before working his way forward but couldn’t quite find his way past the karts in front, eventually placing 5th in a blanket finish, just 0.12-seconds separating 3rd, 4th & 5th.
