Starting 6th in the Pre-Final of Round 2 of the WSK Euro Series on April 28, Alex Powell stormed to 2nd by the end of lap two, before claiming the lead on lap six. 1st was never in jeopardy as he increased his lead over each subsequent lap at ASK Angerville in Angerville, France. His win meant that he would start the Final on the front row, in P2.

Unfortunately, Alex’s challenge for the outright event win didn’t materialize as his kart was plagued by a mechanical issue during the Final, resulting in a loss of pace, fully 3/10’s slower per lap than in the Pre-Final. At the finish, Alex crossed in 6th place, fully 1.9 seconds off the lead, where the top three were covered by a half second.

“Not the finish I was hoping for” said Alex. “That’s racing. Now it’s time to focus on the next race!”

Despite his issues, Alex maintains 2nd spot in the Euro Series championship, with two events remaining in the series.
