Additional tests conducted at two Medical Centers and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown have revealed the extent of the injuries sustained by Jeffrey Panton as a result of an accident on Sunday morning during SOL Rally Barbados 2019.
After initially being checked by the Ambulance crew and found to have “soft tissue damage and a minor cut to the head”, X-ray and CT scans have confirmed that Panton suffered more extensive injury. Co-Driver Mike Fennell Jr reports “He has ten cracked ribs, two clavicles fractured and a bad ball joint (shoulder).” Fennell also added that there were “no internal injuries to report” and that he himself is “sore but otherwise okay.”
Fennell also stated “Data from the Rally Safe equipment shows impact was at 185 km/h, with a force of 11G.”
JMMC wish Jeffrey and Mike a full and speedy recovery.
