Jamaican Fraser McConnell rebound from a disappointing DNF in Saturday’s Round 1 of the Americas Rallycross ARX2 Championship to register a convincing and emotional victory in Round 2 on Sunday June 9 at the Cooper Tires ARX of Mid-Ohio.

Displaying imperious form all weekend, Fraser topped the time charts from opening practice on Saturday, before unintentional contact with a fellow competitor in his Semi-Final resulted in a penalty, forcing a second row start in the Final. Pushing hard to get to the front in the Final, Fraser clipped a course marker, damaging his steering and disabling his race car. The resulting DNF was not indicative of the potential shown all day.

Any doubts about the DNF affecting Fraser were quickly dispelled on Sunday as he once again dominated the competition in ARX2, reeling off wins in his first two Heats driving his DirtFish Motorsports rally cross car with confidence. A second place finish in Heat 3 would be the only hiccup all day as he went on to win his Semi-Final claiming Pole position for the Final. In the Final itself, Fraser timed his Joker lap to perfection, sliding back into the lead to secure his first ever outright rally cross event win and the points lead in the 2019 Americas Rallycross ARX2 Championship.

On his Instagram page after winning, Fraser’s message to his fans was “No better feeling than seeing your hard work pay off. And seeing it from the top of the podium is a hell of a view. Thank you to @dirtfishrally @olsbergsmse @arxrallycross @teamcoopertire @officialmidohio for an unforgettable weekend.”

JMMC congratulate Fraser for his first place finish.
