Jamaicans William Myers and Horatio Brown continued their season at Round 2 of the Barbados Radical SR3 Caribbean Cup on Monday June 10th. Although fastest in both official practice sessions, Myers qualified 2nd as Sean Maloney surprised the field with a blistering qualifying lap while Brown qualified 7th. In Race 1 Stuart Maloney passed Myers on lap 10 of 15, dropping him to 3rd place, with Brown maintaining his 7th place spot.
Race 2 featured a reverse grid for the start, placing Myers on the back row with Brown on Pole. Unfortunately Brown stalled at the start, allowing the entire field to pass, with Myers taking full advantage to secure 2nd place at the end of lap 2, a position he held to the finish with Brown finishing 6th.
Based on his previous finishes Myers started on the front row for Race 3, a position he held while battling for the lead until a broken ground wire block caused him to stop with four laps remaining. Fortunately he had completed more than 75% of the race and was classified as a finisher in 6th place, with Brown in 5th matching his best finish in the SR3 Cup.
Based on points earned on the day, Myers claimed third place on the overall podium, while the Championship is wide open with the top four in the SR3 Cup points standings separated by only thirteen points.
JMMC congratulate William and Horatio for their results.
