An unfortunate spin during his Semi-Final marred an otherwise good day of competition and kept Jamaica Fraser McConnell out of Saturday’s Round 3 ARX2 Final at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. The resulting loss of potential points dropped him to second in the championship.
A determined effort on Sunday produced wins in Heat 3 and the Semi-Final, placing Fraser on Pole for the important Final. Leading from the start, he chose to “Joker” on the final lap which allowed Round 3 winner Conner Martell past as Fraser couldn’t quite hold on to a daring passing maneuver after rejoining the track, running wide three corners from the finish to claim 2nd place on the podium.
Fraser’s strong showing in Round 4 earned enough points to regain the Championship points lead, with three events left in the 2019 Americas Rallycross series. The next event is the ARX of Canada on August 3 to 4.
JMMC congratulate Fraser for his result.
