Alex Powell was a surprise winner at Friday’s RJR/Gleaner National Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards 2023/24 when host Neville Bell announced he was the recipient of a Special Award for Individual Achievement.
The Special Award, presented at the discretion of the RJR/Gleaner Sports Foundation, recognized Alex’s 2023 karting season which included winning the “Champions of the Future” series, finishing P2 in the FIA KZ2 World Cup and P3 in the FIA Karting European Championship.
