The Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC) has partnered with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to introduce Simulated Racing (SIM Racing) as an officially recognized Motor Sport discipline, and welcomes the Jamaica Simulated Racing Association as its affiliate.
To facilitate the expansion of SIM racing in Jamaica the JMMC has coordinated with the FIA, obtaining 2,000 iRacing licenses under the auspices of the FIA, which are valid for one year. These special iRacing licenses are now available free of cost and include a Formula 4 race vehicle.
Multiple FIA-recognized SIM racing series worldwide utilize the iRacing platform, including the FIA Motor Sport Games, the North American Esport Championship and the Olympic Esports Series . Already, the JMMC has received an invitation from Esports ASN Ukraine to participate in their Virtual International Series of competitions, the DAU GT3 Series solo endurance championship.
An Esport Commission has been created by the JMMC, headed by Nicholas Donald. Himself a JSRA member, Mr Donald is a seasoned motor sport official, having served as Scrutineer for the Jamaica Karting Association, Steward for the National Drag Racing Circuit and is currently Chief Steward for events hosted by the JSRA.
Jamaican SIM racers interested in obtaining an iRacing license may contact the JSRA by emailing jamaicasimracingassociation@gmail.com to arrange their new account membership, competition license and free iRacing license.
JMMC welcomes the JSRA as an affiliate and looks forward to growth in Jamaican Esport.
