Jamaican Chris Elliott has been formally appointed by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to its Drag Racing Commission. Mr. Elliott is the first Jamaican to perform duties in a motor sport capacity within the FIA and will serve for a period of two years.
In a letter to Mr. Elliott, JMMC Chairman Stephen Gunter wrote, “I am writing to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your recent appointment to the 2024–2025 FIA Drag Racing Commission. This prestigious position is a testament to your unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions to the development of drag racing, particularly in Jamaica, for more than two decades.”
