JMMC Chairman Stephen Gunter led Jamaica’s delegation to the recent American Congress of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in Lima, Peru, from August 20th to 22nd.
The three-day event brought together sport and mobility clubs from across North, Central, South America and the Caribbean for discussions on a diverse range of subjects, including creating value within the Member Club ecosystem and building strategic partnerships.
At a meeting of North American sporting clubs, Mr. Gunter presented Jamaica’s strategy for the harmonization of drag racing across FIA Region III. Mr. Gunter also addressed the Maximize Your Motor Sport Product meeting, presenting a case study on Jamaica’s eSports development. The presentations were a historic first for Jamaica at an FIA Congress.
A Jamaican delegation will next attend the 2024 edition of the FIA General Assemblies & FIA Awards in Kigali, Rwanda, on December 10th to 13th, which continue to celebrate the FIA’s 120-year anniversary.
