The ‘Jamaican sensation’ Alex Powell turned in a remarkable performance at Round 3 of the 2025 F4 Middle East Championship, held at the Dubai Autodrome on February 8 and 9. Powell, a Mercedes Junior driver representing R-ace GP, showcased his talent, securing Pole position in both qualifying sessions and delivering two sensational race victories over the weekend.

Powell initially demonstrated his raw speed by topping both qualifying sessions. However, a penalty saw his fastest lap from the first session deleted, relegating him to a second-place start for Race 1. Despite this setback, he remained focused and determined.

Race 1 proved challenging for Powell, as he suffered a puncture on the formation lap. Despite the adversity, he battled hard from his second-place starting position, steadily dropping back but managing to secure a ninth-place finish, ensuring crucial points and a front-row start for the reverse grid of Race 2.

In Race 2, Powell seized his opportunity. After a Safety Car intervention, he expertly took the lead on the restart and controlled the race to the checkered flag, claiming his first victory of the weekend in dominant fashion.

The final race of the weekend provided an electrifying climax. Powell started strongly but was overtaken by Kean Nakamura-Berta, who built a lead of over one second entering the final lap. However, in a breathtaking display of skill and determination, Powell reeled in his rival, executed a daring overtake, and then engaged in an intense battle that saw him momentarily lose and regain the lead. In a stunning last-corner maneuver, Powell made his decisive pass to take the checkered flag, securing a dramatic double win for the weekend.

The JMMC congratulates Alex for his pole positions and double victories in Dubai.
