The Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC) celebrates a breakthrough weekend for Jamaican rising star Alex Powell, who scored two race victories at the Mugello round of the 2025 Italian Formula 4 Championship in mid-July
Powell began the weekend strongly, finishing third in Race One to secure a podium. He then claimed his first victory in Race Two, and capped off the weekend in spectacular fashion with another dominant drive to win Race Three.
Reflecting on his F4 wins, Powell said:“It’s unbelievable, I’m lost for words. We knew we had a good chance, starting on pole, but we knew around here anything could happen. I’m speechless, I can only thank the people around me for all their hard work, this is all coming together, and it’s really incredible. It wasn’t easy, we had rain in the first safety car, and that was a bit sketchy, especially going into the braking zone of T1 on the restart. It was about keeping focus, making sure we were doing the small things right, and it all came together.”
The double win at Mugello represents a pivotal milestone in Powell’s 2025 single-seater season. His results have propelled him up the championship standings and further strengthened his profile as one of the brightest prospects in international junior motorsport.
The JMMC extends heartfelt congratulations to Alex. His achievements continue to inspire the next generation of drivers at home, while showcasing the strength and potential of Jamaican motorsport on the world stage.
