The Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC) is charging through the summer with electrifying performances and fierce competition across its two classes—Pro Street (10.999 to 10.000 seconds) and Pro Race (9.999 to 9.000 seconds). As the 2025/26 season progresses, the championship continues to unite the Caribbean motorsport community, with eight nations—Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago—actively competing, and the Cayman Islands supporting as a non-competing Affiliate Member.
Sanctioned under the FIA’s National Calendar platform, the CDRC remains a closed, invitation-only competition where racers are nominated by their National Sporting Authority (ASN) to compete at no cost. Drivers earn points through three locally staged qualifying events, with the top 16 in each class advancing to the Championship Final at Vernamfield, Jamaica, in February 2026.
Pro Street Class Update
The Pro Street class is seeing intense battles, with 55 drivers vying for dominance. Jamaica’s Kevin Jackson continues to hold the lead after strong performances in three national events, amassing a significant points total. Grenada’s Fleming Kruythoff has climbed to second place, showcasing consistent speed and strategy. Trinidad’s Brian Bhagwandass remains in close contention, in third.
Pro Race Class Update
In the Pro Race class, 30 drivers are pushing the limits of speed and precision. Guyana’s Peter Daby and. Grenada’s Joshua Lewis are tied for the lead, while Jamaica’s Ricardo Lynch is 1 point behind in a very close third, setting the stage for a thrilling finish as the season progresses.
Summer Surge and Upcoming Events
The summer stretch has been pivotal, with nine qualifying events scheduled between July and September across the participating nations. Recent races, including Drag Rivals #3 in Jamaica and Test & Tune Heads-Up in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, have intensified the competition, with drivers fine-tuning their vehicles for maximum performance. These events are reshaping the standings, as racers fight to secure their spots in the top 16 for the Championship Final.
Countdown to the 2026 Final
Preparations for the Championship Final at Jamaica’s historic Vernamfield venue are in full swing. Set for early February 2026, this event promises to be a historic showdown, bringing together the region’s fastest drivers for a shot at trophies, prize money, and additional awards for their respective ASNs.
