The Advanced Driver Training Centre on Lakes Pen Road in St. Catherine on Sunday May 03, 2009 will once again play host with the return of Dexterity #2 to that venue. Dubbed The Games continues!!….the event should see the return of Jordan Powell and Maurice Whittingham as they go head to head in the battle for Dexterity Champion honors for 2009. Jordan Powell took first points in the first event held on February 08 winning his class and the overall event. Maurice the reigning dexterity Champion has promised to not let him repeat that feat.
Coming out for the event will be veteran competitors Bobby Marshall and David Summerbell competing in the Motor Sales Mitsubishi Lancer GT. The duo will not be competing for class points however they will be competing to set the fastest times of the day and dare all newcomers to meet it and surpass it in their aim to improve their dexterity driving skills. Other veterans should be taking the track but that will be the surprise element as we match up the young ‘uns against the champions of days past!!
Quads will have their return to competition for the first time in 2009 as they come out for this event having last time competed in the JMMC Dexterity #4 at Palisadoes Raceway in November 2008.
Also expected to return to the event is the Challenger crew with Ivan Lee and Richard Chan. Not to be outdone of course should be Garth Chin “the Benz Man” as he continues in his quest to deny the ‘Altezza world’, victory in the Rear wheel Drive class. Last time saw 4 females competing and it is expected that this time around we should see more ladies stepping up to the skid pad , albeit behind the wheels of course!
Clerk of the Course Christopher ‘Teach’ McFarlane of Jamspeed Racing continues in his throw down with the Meshugata Challenge asking Rookies to show what they’ve got and win cash by beating the time set by him in the demonstration run at the start of the event. A rookie in this case will be a newcomer to the sport having not competed for more than 12 months in any form of Dexterity test. The Rookie who beats Mr. Jamspeed himself by the fastest time will get a refund of their entry fee for the event.
Competitor entry fee is $1,500 while spectators will pay $500 to watch this spectacular and entertaining event.
