The JMMC is pleased to announce its nomination of Thomas “Tommi” Gore as the Jamaican representative in the 2019 Karting Academy Trophy. Tommi’s entry has been duly registered with the FIA for its consideration; the FIA’s announcement of the 51 selected drivers will take place in early January 2019.
The CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy is a one-of-a-kind Competition designed to challenge the best in the world on equal terms. The 51 young Drivers, aged from 12 to 14, represent their country at the wheel of randomly drawn identical karts from the OTK Kart Group, with Exprit chassis and Vortex engines from the OK-Junior category, equipped with LeCont tyres.
The CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy is a three-event series, and in 2019 will take place in Wackersdorf Schwandorf, Germany on 02-05 May; Sarno-Napoli in Italy on 14-16 June and Lonato South Garda in Italy on 20-22 September. The winner of the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy is invited to participate free of charge in the CIK-FIA World Junior Championship within the official teams of OTK Kart Group. The CIK-FIA will also offer the top five of the 2019 Academy Trophy overall ranking, free entry to the CIK-FIA 2020 Championship of their choice.
