Jamaican Fraser McConnell was unfortunate not to qualify for the Final of the Silverstone round of RX2 Rally Cross, following finishes of 9th, 8th, 4th and 2nd in the Qualifying sessions on Sunday May 26th.

In his message to fans, Fraser wrote “We suffered with a terrible Q1 which had us having to climb back up the ladder the entire weekend. We had the fastest lap time on Sunday and proved that we had the pace. Track design made passing very difficult, and so a power steering issue and an early Joker lap in the Semi made us get stuck behind some of the slower guys which made us unable to qualify for the Finals.”

“All in all it was a frustrating weekend but it could have been much worse so we take everything as added experience and come stronger for the next event. I am still third in championship points, which I am very grateful for, and I hope to continue to work hard to make the most of this incredible experience.”

“I also know that there have been a lot of Jamaicans waking up early and putting in the effort to be a part of this big journey and I just want to let everyone know that I am more than grateful for everything.”

Fraser’s next RX2 event is the World RX of Norway on June 15th, 2019.
