May 13, 2025 – Jamaican rallycross star Fraser McConnell continues to make waves on the European motorsports circuit, securing back-to-back podium finishes at Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2025 RallyX Championship in Riga, Latvia over the weekend.
McConnell impressed once again with a 2nd place finish in the FC2 category on Friday, followed by 3rd place on Saturday—marking his third consecutive double podium weekend following strong performances in Portugal and the Netherlands. His results in Latvia are particularly historic, as he becomes the first Jamaican ever to compete in RallyX Latvia, a Baltic country with a proud motorsports heritage.
Competing in the newly introduced FC2 class—a standardized, turbocharged 4WD division designed to create a more affordable alternative to traditional Supercars—McConnell is driving a prototype vehicle, playing a critical role in the ongoing development of the class.
“Fraser is giving us great feedback and is pushing the FC2 to its absolute limit,” said Andreas Eriksson, owner of the FC2 project. “He’s working closely with our engineers, and we plan to implement key improvements ahead of the next round in Finland on June 14–15.”
McConnell, reflecting on the weekend’s results, shared: “This weekend was a big step forward for us. To come to a new country, compete on a technical track like Riga, and walk away with two trophies—it means the team’s hard work is paying off. I’m proud to keep flying the Jamaican flag on these stages.”
So far this season, McConnell has earned podium finishes in both the FC2 and Open 4WD Pro classes, reinforcing his position as one of the standout competitors in the 2025 RallyX season. While official championship standings are still to be finalized, McConnell remains a strong contender in both divisions.
The Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club extends its congratulations to Fraser on his continued success and his role in elevating Jamaica’s presence on the international rallycross stage.
