The Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC) congratulates Jeffrey Panton on being named Motor Racing Sportsman of the Year at the 65th staging of the RJRGLEANER Sports Foundation National Awards, a prestigious honour that recognizes excellence, consistency, and outstanding representation of Jamaica in international motorsport.


This marks the second time Panton has received the award, underscoring a remarkable 2025 season that further cemented his status as one of Jamaica’s most accomplished rally competitors.


Panton’s year was highlighted by his capture of the 2025 Barbados Rally2 Championship, registered on the FIA’s National Calendar platform, securing his second title after previously winning in 2023. The championship was decided by a dramatic two-point margin, the closest finish in the series’ history, following a season of intense competition across multiple Caribbean venues. Competing in his Ford Fiesta Rally2, Panton delivered consistent top-tier performances under immense pressure.


Among his notable 2025 results were:
• 2nd Overall, Martinique Rallye Tour – 1st in Class R5
• 3rd Overall, BRC Shakedown Rally – 3rd in Class R5
• 1st Overall, VRWMSC Double Header South – 1st in Class R5
• 2nd Overall, VRWMSC Double Header North – 2nd in Class R5
• 3rd in Class R5, BRC Winter Rally
• 2nd Overall and 2nd in Class R5, BCIC Rally Barbados


Panton also claimed a major highlight at the Martinique Rallye Tour, where he and co-driver Mike Fennell Jnr won the Rally2 class and finished second overall, showcasing his experience and tactical mastery against a strong international field.


Throughout the season, Panton demonstrated not only speed and precision, but also sportsmanship and leadership, earning the respect of competitors and fans alike. His performances contributed significantly to raising the profile of Jamaican motorsport across the region.
