The Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC) advises that Italian-American rally competitor Filippo Marchino has successfully completed the official shakedown stages ahead of the 2026 Monte Carlo Rally, signaling strong preparation for one of motorsport’s most demanding events.
Wednesday’s 2.6-mile shakedown stage, held near the host city of Gap, provided crews with an opportunity to settle into rhythm ahead of four challenging days of rallying across Monaco and the south of France. While conditions during testing were dry, snow and ice are expected to feature prominently throughout the rally weekend, creating the classic Monte Carlo challenge.
Marchino is competing in a Jamaica-branded Citroën C3 Rally2, proudly draped in the national colours and carrying the message #RallyForRecovery. The striking livery transforms this iconic global motorsport event into a platform highlighting Jamaica’s resilience and ongoing recovery following Hurricane Melissa. All funds raised through the initiative will be directed to supportjamaica.gov.jm, supporting Jamaica’s official disaster recovery efforts.
With shakedown duties complete, Marchino now turns his focus to the official start of the rally.
Filippo Marchino is ready for the rally to begin with the Ceremonial Start on Thursday, January 22 at 8:00am (EST), which can be viewed live at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2vEC3Ey5UM
The JMMC encourages Jamaicans and supporters worldwide to follow the journey and stand united under the banner of #RallyForRecovery.
