Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC), a member of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), has partnered with the global sporting federation to announce the launch of the second FIA Engineering Scholarship at Cranfield University.

Now in its second year, the scholarship supports one aspiring engineer to obtain a Master’s in Advanced Motorsport Engineering at Cranfield.

The scholarship is designed to promote inclusion in sport and welcomes applications from students of all backgrounds and nationalities, with scholars receiving full funding for tuition and support towards living expenses.

Cranfield University is a globally recognised postgraduate university, which has undertaken research, consultancy, and testing for the motorsport sector since the 1970s. The university is also home to the FIA-approved Cranfield Impact Centre and AXSIM Racing, both widely used by the world’s on- and off- road racing teams.

Stephen Gunter, President of JMMC: “This scholarship represents an incredible opportunity for aspiring Jamaican motorsport engineers to learn alongside industry experts at a leading global university. I would encourage any eligible students to apply.”

FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem: “Fostering diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within motor sport is both a goal and a commitment. With this engineering scholarship, the FIA continues to pave the way for a future where talent is recognized and nurtured, regardless of candidates’ backgrounds.”

Applications for the scholarship will close on 1st April 2024. Applicants can find more information at fia.com or may contact the JMMC for guidance.
